Sands Media Pty Ltd was born in 2004 by its founder, Joe Sands. Following a full time scholarship at the prestigious and elite Film and Television school; AFTRS, Joe commenced his career in the Media Industry as a Radio and Television Writer, Presenter and finally Creative/Content Director for Australia's leading radio networks.

In 2000, he created a Creative and Digital agency that soon became recognised as one of the top independent agencies in Queensland. The agency later become the Queensland arm of leading independent SMART in 2007, acquired by Inter-public Group.

Joe’s career in Media, Communications and Media spanned over 30 years. His extensive experience ranged from Property and Tourism to Retail, creating a chain of successful retail stores in 2001.

As an Executive for Australia’s leading media companies and a Communications and Marketing Strategist for a diverse range of major National brands that included Australand, Grocon, Jim’s Mowing Group, Hans Small-goods, Inspirations Paint and Pfizer, Joe’s expertise delivered social change campaigns for all levels of business including the Federal government through to local government [Gold Coast City Council 2005 to 2012].

Having created and owned numerous successful retail businesses, there was not just a passion for retailing, but a deep understanding from a media/marketing and ownership perspective. This combined with his award winning creative advertising campaigns, enabling Sands Media to establish a framework for highly effective social media and digital marketing campaigns.

With Joe’s passing, the business, while retaining these successful frameworks, has also transformed itself focusing on business operations as a holistic approach utilising the skill set and expertise of its current Directors; Renae Sands and son Jackson Sands.
